Former VeggieTales® Creative Team Forms
New Creative Company in Nashville

Franklin, TN – April 22, 2009 – “This has been such a strong creative team for so many years. We just shouldn’t break it up.” This was the rallying cry that was heard not long after lay offs were announced at Big Idea, the Franklin-based company responsible for the creation of VeggieTales. Taking swift action, five members of the Big Idea Design Team formed their own creative company -- SpringSprang Studio, LLC.

The team’s group resume represents an impressive list of names like Disney, May Company, Jim Beam Brands, John Deere, Hasbro Toy, Lockheed Martin, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, EMI Music and, of course, VeggieTales. In addition to solid design, product development, marketing, new media and publishing services, the group also offers some specialized services like 3D illustration, motion graphics and live show production.

Karen Poth, who served as the Vice President of Design at Big Idea, leads the team. John Trauscht, (another former Big Idea employee) also joined SpringSprang bringing with him over 18 years of experience in print design and marketing.

“Our vision is to be able to offer companies all the services they would have used their in-house design studios for.” Poth explained. “With today’s suffering economy, not every company still has their in-house design studio.”

SpringSprang Studio, LLC was founded in December, 2008 to provide every aspect of corporate creative services including product design, illustration, motion graphics, new media, brand development, live events, publishing, video and photography.
